Solar panels are a great method to reduce your reliance on natural gas while still delivering the electricity your home requires to keep you and your family alive. You’re not only helping the environment, but you’re also helping yourself by achieving energy independence in a clean and sustainable manner.
But what about the animals and birds that might try to get through your panels? Many of us are aware that birds and other small animals like to build their nests in our gutters, beneath our panels, and anywhere else where they are protected from the elements. But what are we going to do about it?
Here, we’ll talk about solar panels, birds, and how they might influence your solar panels, as well as what you can do to help them survive longer.
Believe it or not, solar panels actually benefit birds.
Electricity comes from burning oil, coal, and natural gas. These materials combust and release carbon pollution that eventually forms a blanket layer in the atmosphere, trapping in heat. This pollution causes environmental issues across the globe, one of which is forcing birds to find new places to live and feed.
Fortunately, solar panels don’t use any coals or natural gases to produce energy — they only require direct sunlight!
